What does metal soffit do?

Soffit is commonly produced in vented styles, with perforations that let air move into the attic space, and in solid styles for areas where ventilation is not needed. Ask which styles we currently offer.

Should I use vented or solid soffit?

Vented soffit is used where the attic or roof assembly relies on intake ventilation at the eaves. Solid soffit is used where no ventilation is needed, such as many porch ceilings. Your project’s ventilation design should determine the mix.
