Snap-Lock Standing Seam

Snap-lock is a standing seam panel whose seams lock together during installation. The leg of one panel is pressed down over the leg of the panel beside it and snaps into place, with no mechanical seaming tool required.

Overview

What is snap-lock standing seam?

That makes snap-lock a common choice for residential roofs, porches and light commercial work, where crews want the concealed-fastener look of standing seam with a straightforward installation. It is also used for walls and accent areas.

WarHammer Metal supplies snap-lock panels along with the trim that finishes them. Send us your project details and we will confirm current options.

Typical applications

  • Residential roofs
  • Porches and covered patios
  • Additions and accent roofs
  • Light commercial roofs
  • Wall and accent panels

Characteristics

Key characteristics.

  • Locks without a seamer

Adjoining panels snap together along the seam by hand, so installation does not depend on a mechanical seaming tool.

  • Hidden fasteners

Each panel is fastened along its edge, and the adjoining panel’s seam covers the fasteners once it is snapped in place.

  • Clean standing seam lines

The finished roof has the same crisp vertical seams as other standing seam systems.

  • Trim from the same supplier

Standard and custom-fabricated trim are available from WarHammer Metal for the same project.

Questions

Common questions.

Is snap-lock suitable for low-slope roofs?

Minimum slope depends on the specific panel and the installation requirements, and mechanically seamed systems are generally preferred for very low slopes. Include the roof pitch with your quote request so we can talk through the options.

Do snap-lock panels need special tools to install?

The seams are designed to engage without a mechanical seamer. Installers still use the usual metal roofing tools for cutting, bending and fastening panels and trim.
